Well, the semester is over. I'm looking forward to spending the summer catching up on some fun reading and being a little more disciplined with my Rosetta Stone French. French is such a beautiful language and I would love to be fluent in it.
I'm reading William Dalrymple's fascinating book of the last days of Bahadur Shah Zafar and the Mughal Empire before India officially passed onto the British Crown.
I'm slowly getting back into Indian history and the best introductory book I have read so far is the Oxford History of India, first written in 1919 and updated through WWII. Even though it is very dated and the spelling of some of the names is very colonial, it is a good introduction from the Indus Valley Civilization to the first World War.
